Civilian
While many of the heroes of Middle-Earth have shown great skill with the
sword or the bow, the bulk of Arda's population is cut from less
combative cloth. These individuals are laborers, craftsmen, and nobility
striving to live a more profitable or regular life in a time of war.
Thus while they have no set combat skills, civilians can be more flexible
in choosing their training areas than those who follow more rigid
professional paths.
As a result of not being so combat-focused, the civilian has more time to
master trades: simply, the making of things. As such, it is not uncommon
to find civilians using their skills to cook hearty meals, concoct
fantastic potions, or sew sturdy clothing. Indeed without the crafts and
talents of the dedicated civilian, the quality of life in Middle-Earth
would be very poor for any who appreciate the comforts of civilization.
