Eorling

The Eorlings, also known as a nation by the title Rohirrim, are fair-haired men, descendents of Eorl, the first King of Rohan. While not as long-lived as Dunedain, they are a hardy and hale people. They are generally tall, blond, and exceptionally good horsemen. They are a noble race, but--unlike the Dunedain--their nobility is tied to the land and more strictly linked to deeds of daring in mounted combat. Rohan is the name of their kingdom, a land of rolling plains and hills. This land was granted to Eorl by Cirion of Gondor roughly 500 years ago.
