Kills
Killing NPCs is a large part of this game, but there are
sometimes consequences for killing certain NPCs.
Some towns and cities take offense to your killing their
citizens and will brand you a 'murderer,' unfit to enter
their gates.
Guilds have strict requirements about whom you may not
kill; if you plan on joining a guild, you should ask them
who you should avoid.
Servants should avoid killing the Dark Lord's minions in
Mordor or may find themselves greatly penalized.
When you kill an NPC that you shouldn't, that kill is put
on your record for about fifteen days. After that much
time has passed, the record is expunged. There is only
one way to know exactly what NPC you killed, its race and
alignment, and when you killed it: pay careful attention
to your killing habits. The 'align' command will give
you this information, though be warned that if you are
poorly aware, you may receive false information.
Ainur are unable to tell you this information. Harassing
Ainur for this information is not recommended.
Note: Many players will come to the conclusion that some
mistake has been made in recording their kills. There has
yet to be a case where the system made a mistake.
