Petitions
The bug, idea, and typo commands are useful commands for
giving feedback when adventuring in a game area.
Sometimes, however, a player has an idea for a change
to the mud's game system itself: an idea which is not
confined to within an area.
It is important that these large changes have the
support of other players. For these, we have developed
the petitions system.
You must be 5 days of age to file a petition.
How it works:
The petitions system can be accessed from the
'petition' command.
The process begins when a player uses the "petition submit"
command. After the petition is entered it must be given
a title (up to 30 characters long) and it will be assigned
a number.
Other players can read the petition and either "petition
approve" or "petition reject" it. Additionally there is a
comment board interfaced through the 'petition comment'
command.
At any time, the petition author can "petition edit" their
petition to make changes. Making changes clears any yes/no
votes and mails the voters informing them of the change.
After 14 days have passed, the author may "petition tally"
the votes. Additionally, the petition will be auto-tallied
after 30 days from the last edit.
The petition must meet the following requirements to be sent
to Valinor:
* A) Minimum approving votes (65 simple yes votes OR 2600 aged yes votes)
* B) Both normal and aged yes votes must be higher
than the no vote count.
* C) A petition cannot pass by a margin narrower than 20%.
If Valinor approves, the petition will be put on the tomake
list and will be implemented as soon as possible. If Valinor
rejects the petition, the Power of Administration will
update the petition, giving a reason why it was rejected.
Abuses of the Petition system are not to be taken lightly.
If your petition is not a reasonable improvement to the game,
but rather harassment/lewd or in some other way rule-breaking,
expect to be punished. Note that Valinor handles its own
staffing and production issues, and the petition system is
not the place to report or handle broken rules, nor is it
the place to request appeals: see the Power of Law.
