Proxies (Rules and Policies)

A proxy is a server or service that allows you to connect to sites on the internet from a different IP address. They are primarily used to evade IP-based connection bans, although occasionally a somewhat legitimate usage, such as getting around a firewall, are found.

It is our experience on T2T that proxy accounts are used for nefarious purposes, such as evading a hardban or multiplaying, a vast majority of the time. As such, we have begun taking action, such as banning all known proxies as they are found. Moreover, we are expressly forbidding our players to connect from proxy accounts without first obtaining approval from the Administrators via the 'law' command. The request for proxy site approval via 'law' should contain a clear reason as to why your use of the proxy is necessary.

Any character that logs in from a site determined to be a proxy account will at the very least see that site banned, and is liable to further law-related punishments as determined appropriate by the Admin.
