Attention Arda!
 
Please be aware of a major change to the 'merciful' command.
 
You no longer turn merciful 'on' or 'off'.  Merciful is now enabled
by-name for each player, or for all members of a public guild.
 
The 'public' and 'private' merciful settings have also been removed.  If
you have someone (or their guild) set to merciful, they can tell so using
the 'align' command.  No one else will be aware of your merciful setting
towards that player.
 
If you had 'merciful on' before, please be advised that it will no longer
be on!
