Note 54 Mathias (10/12/09 20:36) Spreekilling Hello Ardans, The administration realizes that spreekilling is problematic and something that we do not want. While it can be difficult to define what "spreekilling" truly is, we have attempted to do so in the following manner: Whenever a player is killed, each of that victim's attackers will be given "credit" for partaking in the kill. If a killer has been part of 3 kills in the period of 1 hour, that killer's victim will be given the Blessing of Mandos provided that the victim would otherwise be eligible. As a reminder of when the Blessing of Mandos will take effect, the following criteria MUST be met: * The crime is not lawless * The murder is not a contract kill * The death is not a result of self-defense (i.e. Bob attacks Joe but Joe kills Bob) * The victim has not committed any crime in the past 5 days - this includes crimes that were never reported such as theft or attempted murder (sparring) of your friend. The Blessing will reactively be given when one of the following conditions occurs: * The victim is less than level 10 while one of the victim's attackers is higher than level 14. * The victim has been killed 5 times in the past 5 days. * The victim has been killed in the past 5 minutes. As a reminder, the Blessing of Mandos will cause the victim to drop all of their belongings and gold and 'flee' to their racial start location. They will also suffer a 30 minute commban of the OOC comm. Because the victim will not actually die and suffer experience or stat/skill losses, this crime is NOT reportable as murder. As a reminder, attempted murders may not be reported after you have logged off! With these new provisions, the administration hopes to not be involved in Player vs Player killing disputes any longer. If you have any questions, please see myself or another Ainu and we will be happy to clarify matters for you. Mathias
