Note 57 Mathias (12/04/09 17:45) Board rules reminder
Hello Ardans,
There always seems to be a little bit of confusion about our
board content policies so I'd like to take a moment to remind
you about our rules:
1) Profanity of any kind is forbidden.
2) We will NOT tolerate RL-offensive posts. The most common of these
are in the Joke category. RL racial, ethnic, and hardcore sexual
posts/jokes will be removed on sight, as will the player who posted
them. (For those patrons of the Thranduil restrooms, jokes and
comments on the opposite sex are still welcome, as long as they are
relatively tame.)
3) No personal attacks. If you have been wronged by someone, the rest
of Arda does *not* want to hear about it. Handle character conflicts
through role playing not board posting.
4) No Flaming. This goes along with number 3. If you cannot debate an
issue in a civilized manner, we are not interested in your opinion.
5) These rules apply to *all* of Arda's boards. Whether they are
accessible to all players or a group (guild boards, Male Board,
Female Board etc) of people. Violators will be issued a warning at
the
very least and in cases of severe violation be punished accordingly.
The best way to be sure you're not posting the wrong material is to use
your own common sense, and respect for the others who read these boards.
As a note, these rules apply to ANY post that you make, whether
you are responding to another post (and thus including that content)
or not. In addition, the profanity checks are there to censor
*content*, not specific arrangements of letters. For example,
if 'beef' was an offensive word, then writing 'b**f' or 'b33f' would
be just as inflammatory! In essence, don't find creative ways to
bypass our profanity filters.
Also note that our boards will try to gently push you in the right
direction. If you receive a notice that something you've posted
may be inappropriate, heed that notice! If you post it anyway,
you are almost certainly going to receive a warning. Why do we
let you do this? In the off chance that a 'forbidden' word is
contained in an 'innocent' word.
**Note that this applies to EVERY BOARD in Arda, whether it is
the gossiper or your guild's boards.**
Your attention to our rules will preclude you from receiving any
warnings in this regard.
Thank you,
Mathias
