Note 59 Mathias (03/29/10 13:01) Sparring
Hello Ardans!
It's my pleasure to introduce to you a new feature which we
hope you will enjoy: Sparring!
Long have Ardans clamoured for a way to fight one another
without fear of being reported for attempted murder (or worse).
To that end, we have produced for you the sparring system.
In a nutshell, the sparring system works thusly:
One player becomes the sparring match leader and every other
player who wishes to participate in the match must spar with
the leader to join the session.
Once the session has every member included, the leader will
'spar start' and now combat between sparring partners will
be outside of the lawsys. During this period, you will be
unattackable by NON-sparring partners while you are in combat
with a sparring partner. If you are not in combat for too
long, you will be removed from the spar. Otherwise, you'll
remain in the spar until your health reaches zero or you tap
out early ('spar stop'). If your health reaches zero, you'll
be given a short period of invulnerability (from players, not
NPCs) to find safe haven.
As a note, while there is only one leader in a sparring match,
who you are in combat with is entirely up to you! There is no
limit on the number of players in a single sparring match.
For convenience, you may also spar with everyone in the room
('spar everyone') or spar with a player's entire party
('spar party ').
NOTE: Sparring matches are solely mutual events; simply
typing does not mean that you will be in a
non-lawsys combat state with that player! They must accept
your spar request, and then the spar leader must start the
spar.

Enjoy!
