This ability allows you to counter someone who is casting a spell or
to cease someone's active light or dark spell. You must be holding a staff
to counter a spell. Counter is primarily a wizard ability and its success
is based on the resist magic skill. Note that countering someone's spell
counts as an aggressive action and will start combat. As such, you will
not be able to counter other players' spells until you have been online
for at least 10 minutes. This restriction does not apply during the first
3 hours of a reboot or when targeting wanted criminals.
Successfully countering a spell costs 15 EP, while a failed attempt
costs 10 EP.
