Idle (General Help)
When you stop sending commands to the mud, you become "idle." When
you are idle for 5 minutes or more, this is noted through your legend
or through sending you a tell. While idle, you may still be interacted
with even though you are not paying attention. This can be very dangerous!
Creatures may attack you, and local dangers may also prove problematic
(a rotten floor to fall through, a swift river may overwhelm your character
and cause drowning, etc.). You will be protected from being attacked by
other players, but only after 5 minutes of idle time.
If you want to set your 'idle' tag in your legend and as a response
to tells before the 5 minute timer, use the 'afk' command. Do note,
though, that this will not change the timer for the PK protection.
Becoming idle is a natural part of playing the game, but you are
advised to take precautions. If you know you are going to go idle,
rent a room at a nearby inn, or join a guild and enjoy the safety of
a guildhall!
While idle, you have a time limit of thirty (30) minutes before you are
forced to quit. Circumventing this time limit through triggers or "bots"
is prohibited. Enjoy the game as an active player.
