Tradeskills (Character command)
Disclaimer: While tradeskills might be a wonderful way to develop your
character, we strongly recommend against spending very much time
on them while you are still leveling up. At this time, mastering
a tradeskill requires a significant commitment, and the reward is
likely to disappoint. Think of crafts made using tradeskills as
something that would enrich and round off your character in a
thematic sense, and not necessarily in a lucrative manner. We are
aware that the tradeskills system may not be very popular as a
result, and this is important to us. However, at this time, there
are no plans for a revamp.
The tradeskills command shows you your current tradeskill levels and
the tradeskill that you are currently using.
Your tradeskills will only improve as you use them; you cannot
purchase tradeskill upgrades like you can with other skills.
There are three types of tradeskills: gathering tradeskills allow you
to collect different materials, crafting tradeskills allow you to create
equipment to help you in your adventuring, and artisan tradeskills allow
you to create beautiful aesthetic things to make your world more
interesting.
There is no limit to the number of gathering tradeskills that you may
have active.
Civilians may have 4 active crafting tradeskills, while Professionals
may have 2. Civilians may have 3 active artisan tradeskills, while
Professionals may have 2.
In order to make a tradeskill active, you must seek out a tradeskill
trainer proficient in that tradeskill. Once at the trainer, you may use
the 'tradeskill' command.
