Hitpoints (General Help)
Hitpoints, or HP for short, reflect your current health. If you lose
all your hitpoints, you die. However, unlike in other games where health
dropping to 0 kills you, we have a "grace period" where you can still be
saved. When your HP is between -9 and -1, you will be "bleeding to death".
You will be unable to perform any commands, but any of your fellow players
can "bandage" you to save your life. If, however, no one helps you before
your HP reaches -10, you will die. Your hitpoints can be viewed in your
score, but the easiest way to keep track of them is by having them in your
prompt, which is the default.
You can lose hitpoints in many ways, however most often you will lose
them in combat. When your opponent, NPC or PC, hits you, you lose some
HP. Performing dangerous activities, such as jumping off cliffs, may
also affect your health negatively.
Once lost, HP can be regained through various means, including using
the services of NPC healers, eating food and the like. See "help healing"
for full list.
Your maximum available hitpoints are determined by your level only;
you start with 50 when at level 1, and gain 10 per level, up to level 19.
Level 20 does not add any hitpoints, and levels 21+ only add 5.
